I gave this book a 5☆ rating because it gave me a full gamut of feelings! Verity Sharpe wasn't your typical character. She was subjected to many ups and downs in her life. This book takes you through these stages, some horrifying and others loving. Each of them, in turn, taught her lessons and helped her grow in mind and spirit. As I followed her, I cheered for her accomplishments, cried for her missteps and laughed at the funny things. I continued to wonder how she could take several steps forward then fall so far back. I found so many things I could identify with yet others I could not. I was so happy when things turned in her favor. In all things, Ruth was very tasteful and truthful in covering adult aspects that some do not like to deal with. I enjoyed it all. I also enjoyed the reference to characters from her series Ruthless Beings! Again, it answered more questions...
I do not give book reports or spoilers. This is an adult themed book and should be treated as such.
I'm sorry but this is one of the worst things I've read in a long time. I just about gave up but just flipped through most of the book to see what happened in the end. I'm a massive reader and I'm ashamed to say it but I'm sending this back and getting my money back, hated it.
