The United States is only about 5 percent of the world’s population, but home to 25 per cent of global prisoners. The American criminal justice system presently is broken, and an example of justice run amok. The system has deteriorated to a point whereby innocent people are being imprisoned even with the lack of sufficient evidence. For the real criminals, punishments are often not commensurate with the crime. Consequently, the criminal justice system does more harm than good – destroying lives, shattering dreams and crushing hopes and aspirations for happiness.
The credo of legal jurisprudence in any civilized dispensation is that the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent jurisdiction. However, in America, the reverse is the case due to its misguided penal policies spawned by greed and the interplay of politics and business within it. Prosecutors take to the extreme the dangerous human impulse to punish perceived offenders – real or imagined. Stories of prosecutorial abuse run like a horror movie. Reports of unwarranted arrests, police brutality, senseless prosecutions, and mass incarceration are a commonplace to the extent that the country’s legal system is teetering dangerously towards a precipice.
Across the country, the visible signs of pain and anguish can be seen in many families devastated by the imprisonment of a loved one and the so-called respect for human rights can only be thought of in relative terms. The lack of a guilty mind no longer matters in criminal cases in U.S. courts. As a result, the nation has drifted from the core foundations and principles on which the Union was built, which adds up to one concept and one word freedom. In the context of the nation’s criminal justice system, this “American Creed” lies in tatters.
American Criminal Justice System, Inc Rogue Criminal Prosecution in an Era of Mass Incarceration, is a product of my experience with the U.S. legal system. It is also a concept of the knowledge I gained from many that I met in prison – guilty and innocent. This book communicates clearly and presents a compelling argument of how government prosecutors and their cronies use crazy laws, plea bargaining system, false witnesses and other unwholesome tactics to oppress its people.
It is my hope that telling my story, alongside the efforts of others, will shed new light into the dark alley of the U.S. legal system. This book will also remind me that every day that I live in freedom, many languish in captivity.

I had the honor of knowing Fred through his wife Bridget. Both of us were in the same situation, with our husbands detained for alleged Medicare fraud.Fred indeed was a victim of a miscarriage of justice, and countless people who have been arrested on a government quest to reduce Medicare fraud are facing the same injustice.
Fred has written a compelling book and a thorough analysis of the current legal system in United States. It needed to be said in order for the public to have a realistic view of the current rogue system. There is an urgent need for a reform as too many innocent human beings are needlessly incarcerated. In spite of the grand injustice that befell Fred, I admire the way he remained steadfast and keeping his faith in God. Thank you for making a difference.

American Criminal Justice System Inc Rogue Prosecutions in an Era of Mass Incarceration Fred E Eghobor 9780995964808 Books Reviews
Fred Eghobor's American Criminal Justice System Inc is a very important first-hand testimony which allows the reader to understand how numerous innocent people are sent to jail, in a rich country which constantly lectures the world about democracy and justice. The completely immoral mass incarceration approach in the United States is a huge problem which destroys lives. A loving husband and father of three children with no criminal record and no history of violence was caught in that evil machinery and had to suffer through the pain of 4 years of incarceration, loss of employment and enormous financial losses for the great benefit of some politicians' reelection, some prosecutors' career advancement and some prison contractors' profits. Thanks to his religious faith and his ability to forgive, Fred survived the ordeal, returned to his family and courageously and unselfishly wrote his story for the benefit of American society and humanity as a whole.
Fred Eghobor's book is about an American problem which concerns mostly American citizens and residents. It is not about international politics, but it must be read knowing that the United States government is not just a problem for the American people. It has become a scourge for many peoples around the world who, since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, have been economically punished or attacked by American or proxy forces under the guise of bringing freedom and prosperity to their country. Each time, a deceitful and intense war propaganda campaign was carried out through complicit media outlets belonging to oligarchs. Somebody else was blamed for the destruction which ensued from sanctions, war and terrorism, be it Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Bashar al-Assad or some other so-called tyrant, whereas the real culprits live in Washington and on Wall Street.
The motivation for massive crimes such as incarcerating honest US citizens or bringing war to other countries is always the same the endless greedy quest for more profits and enslavement of human beings. This behaviour and the system which enables it are incompatible with universal human values and the most basic teachings of Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The direction history is taking must be called into question by informed citizens.
Reading Fred Eghobor's book about the United States' rogue justice system is an enlightening experience for the reader and part of the cure our world needs to find understanding and better harmony.
October 4, 2012 is a day that will forever live in the memory of Fred Eghobor. This was the day he was rudely awakened by a raid on his house, and he was taken into federal custody. At the time he had no idea that his time spent in custody would last for four years, and would be for a crime that he did not commit. In "American Criminal Justice System Inc." he shows how he was an innocent victim of a justice system that relies on plea bargains rather than trials to maximize the number of convictions, even when those convicted are innocent, and those who are guilty are given reduced sentences in return for testifying (often falsely) against others who in many cases are quite innocent of any crime. Not only does Eghobor, originally from Nigeria and a resident of the United States since 2000, describe how the justice system in this country failed him, but he also presents compelling evidence to show that what happened to him is typical rather than being the rare exception.
While this book not only tells Eghobor's heart-renching story of his trial and incarceration as well as providing an account of why the justice system fails so many people, it also discusses steps that can be taken to remedy the inequality that results from the way the justice system operates. And, in addition to this, Eghobor speaks at length about the lessons he learned during his time of incarceration an how he has become a better person as a result.
I highly recommend this book not just for the glimpse it provides of what is really going on in the federal justice system, but also for its compelling account of how one family's life was impacted by a miscarriage of justice.
Thought provoking and brilliantly written! I laughed, cried, and has changed my perception of our justice system.
Great Book from a great writer. Every fair minded person must read this book for self preservation. I am ordering a copy for a friend.
